The only slight downside was the empty building sites surrounding the hotel with no sign of imminent development, giving the area a rather neglected feel. However the Gas Street basin area was very close by which was very pleasant."

"If you're looking for a place to stay when you're going to events at the Utilia Arena Birmingham (or even just going into the city centre), then look no further than the Staycity Aparthotel in the Jewellery Quarter....just an easy 10 minute walk down the canalside path to ghe Arena. It was our first time staying in any Staycity Aparthotel, and we were definitely not disappointed. The apartment was well designed, with separate living room and bedroom. The bed was so comfy.......I had the best night's sleep that I've had in a long time. The shower was a decent size, and really powerful too. There is also onsite secure parking too.......there are only a couple of dozen spaces though, so early booking is a must. Breakfast had a good choice, and was plentiful, and ghe staff couldn't have been more pleasant and helpful. We highly recommend this Staycity Aparthotel"
